WHAT IS MARFAN SYNDROME?
Marfan Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the connective tissue, causing abnormalities of the patient's eyes, cardiovascular system, and musculoskeletal system. The syndrome is named after the French Pediatrician who first described it in 1896.
It is sometimes called Arachnodactyly, meaning "spider-like fingers" in Greek.

About 1 in every 5,000 people in the United States have been diagnosed
Lead singer of the band Deerhunter has been diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome and shows many of the physical symptoms associated with the disorder.
