THERE IS NO CURE FOR MARFAN SYNDROME
Each affected body system must be treated seperately.

Skeletal System:

  • Annual evaluations
  • Orthopedic braces
  • Surgery
Vision:
  • Glasses
  • Regular appointments with an optometrist to catch early signs of vision problems like cataracts
Circulatory System:
  • Regular check-ups by cardiologist
  • Echocardiograms to detect swelling of the aorta and prevent serious problems
  • Surgery to replace valves or repair the aorta
  • Pregnancy is dangerous because it increases risk of aortic englargement
Nervous System:
  • Medication to reduce pain from dural ecstasia
Respiratory System:
  • Avoid smoking
